The Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning provides opportunities for non-Chinese speakers to learn traditional Chinese, participate in cultural activities, and discover the beauty of Taiwan.
The program is open to adults over the age of 18. One course is 12 weeks, 3 hours per week. The course materials are mainly provided by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee.
This program introduces students to traditional Chinese and builds listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Meanwhile, it gives students the opportunity to explore Taiwanese culture and its history.
In addition, the Taiwan Center organizes cultural activities from time to time, in which students can immerse themselves in the authentic culture of Taiwan and increase their interest in Mandarin study. The events include traditional festival celebrations, co-organization of the Taiwanese Heritage Week series, Passport to Taiwan festival, etc.
